Pathways Society

The Pathways Society was developed to provide a forum at major meetings, such as a AAA and ASHA, for individuals interested in discussing current issues related to (Central) Auditory Processing Disorders. All individuals with an interest in auditory processing disorders are welcome to attend these meeting and become members.  Clinicians, scientists and students are encouraged to attend and make their opinions, ideas and questions known. We hope to develop informal meetings that will allow the advancement of (C)APD by sharing information about common concerns and advances in the field.

Those of you there interested in pathways and have not sent your e-mail address to Bob Jirsa (jirsa@southernct.edu), please do so. This is the primary way that we will it be able to inform you about the scheduling of meetings and other information.

Programs

Continuing Education

There are three continuing education programs open to the public. The Lectures in Auditory Disorders and Sciences (LADS) program runs in the fall and invites top clinicians and researchers to present their most recent information. In the spring there is Audiology Grand Rounds. This allows clinicians to convene to discuss interesting cases and share information. In the summer, one symposium, workshop or educational activity is conducted (see below).

Recently, more than ever, there is a greater interest and demand for the evaluation and treatment of APD.  Hence there is an increasing need for new and relevant information on APD.  To help fulfill this need this conference brings together an outstanding group of clinicians and researchers to discuss the most current practices and science critical to understanding APD.  Diagnostics, management, and important interactions between these two aspects of APD are the focus of this unique conference.
